Re: sticky fingers
Mon, April 26, 2004 - 6:00 AMI wouldn't exactly call it "stealing" but when I go into a 7-11 or any store selling coffee, I want real half and half. If they use creamer I just go straight to the dairy counter, get a carton of half and half, take it back to the coffee section and use what I need and leave the rest.
I used to ask- but I often found myself in annoying conversations with safeway employees (and others) explaining why they couldn't get me some half and half.
I'm sure this irritates the owners. -

Re: sticky fingers
Fri, April 30, 2004 - 5:17 PMA week ago I was at home depot looking for some rubber washers. After searching the store in vain, and twice being misdirected by employees, I found some washers attached to a hose. So I carried the hose into the tool section and took some cutters and cut the tie-wrap and dropped the hose there on the floor.
Then as I walked through check out I showed the washers to the cashier. "Do you sell these?" I asked.
The cashier paused and throught. "Somewhere," he said, "Maybe back in the garden section."
Thank you I said, paying for my board and pocketing the washers.
I figure if I get out of there without going postal, thats thanks enough.
