So, a bit of irony.... I was looking for a documentary called Escape from Affluenza, ( it ran on pbs, it was about anti-consumerism) and I got on the web site. They want two hundred and fifity dollars for a copy of the film! What the hell? I guess I'll have to do a video store search for it. Has anyone seen it? I hear its really good.

Re: cheap documentaries
Mon, April 19, 2004 - 6:30 AMThat is very ironic.
Our library has a book called "Affluenza : the all consuming epidemic" by John De Graaf. The listing says it is based upon the PBS program.
Otherwise...try ebay. Maybe somebody has an illegal copy they want to sell. -

Re: cheap documentaries
Fri, January 7, 2005 - 2:08 AMI ran into the same prob when trying to find a copy of "Dance of Darkness" that ran years ago on PBS. I tracked it down to the only source, its maker, and he similarly wanted alotta dough. In fact the only means I've found to obtain it is to go to UCLA and view it there or get a copy of my buddy's old laser disc. I suggest getting on a P2P network and downloading it if it's that obscure and expensive.
